More Calls For Violence
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D,TX) calls for Elon Musk to be “taken down.” Since he does not hold an official position in government, what, specifically, does “taken down” mean? Sounds an awful lot like “taken out.” The honorable congresswoman is an attorney, so she should know the ramifications of calling for Senator Ted Cruz (R,TX) to be “hit on the head, like hard,” and for other Republicans to be “punched.”
But why are we surprised? President Trump, while a candidate, was shot in the ear with a rifle. He was a few millimeters from having his brains blown all over the first rows of spectators. Given that prelude, the calls for violence against Cruz and Musk, and the burning Tesla dealerships across the country, are merely the expected follow-up melodies.
The anticipated final movement is Chopin’s “Funeral March” – you know, the one they played at President Kennedy’s funeral procession. As one who watched it on TV, I can tell you that the assassination of a president, or any public figure, is deeply traumatic for the entire nation. I pray that we will not have to endure it again. And I hope that the jerks calling for violence will have the good sense and decency to shut the bleep up.
