The left clings to the Department of Education not for funds, but for control—using it to sever parental rights and indoctrinate children under the guise of education.

Einstein supposedly said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. A prime example is spending billions on the Department of Education, while test scores for reading and math continue to decline to abysmal levels.

Oh wait, perhaps this is not an example after all. Perhaps the Left and Democrats (as if there were any difference) do not continue the current educational debacle not despite the fact that test scores keep falling, but because they keep falling. Perhaps the object is to create a population of ignorant subjects unable to think for themselves or obtain well-paying jobs that enable them to be self-sufficient and support a family. Perhaps the object is to create ignorant subjects who are easily led.

That is, is this malice or stupidity? But from the point of view of the victimized children, what is the difference? Not being mind readers, we cannot be sure of the motives of those responsible for this educational debacle. All we can do is reform the proximate cause: the Department of Un-Education, or root it out entirely.
