Early Release Of Convicted Felons Does What?

Senator John Kennedy (R,LA) is one of my favorites. His sense of humor is unequaled:

“Christmas ornaments, drywall, Jeffrey Epstein. Name three things that do not hang themselves.”

Here he is interviewing officials of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. He asks a simple question. Tens of thousands of convicted felons were granted early release. How many of them re-offended and wound up back in prison? The officials are unable to answer this crucial question.

This raises a more basic question, one which we hope Elon Musk and his DOGE will be able to answer. Congress, judges, and bureaucrats are constantly making decisions. Who is following up to see the results of these decisions? Someone? Anyone? No one?

Tens of thousands of convicted felons were granted early release from prison. As a result, how many Americans were murdered, robbed, raped, assaulted, or otherwise victimized? If no one knows, we have a duty to find out before we make more mistakes.
