What Is Normal? Is Anything?
Mark Lewis on Townhall raises a troubling question: What do you do when half the nation, about 74 million people, votes for Harris, and thereby affirms their belief that the abnormal is now normal.
For example, that a 6’4″ biological male should swim against a 5’8″ all-American woman. It turns out that the woman tied the man to one-hundredth of a second in an incredible performance. But she needed the incredible performance and still was robbed of an uncontested gold medal.
And then we have the female Olympic boxer, who quit rather than be permanently injured by being hit by a biological male. A boxer rising to Olympic level clearly has guts. But she also had the brains not to have her brains beat out – a clumsy sentence but a clear thought.
But with due respect for Mark Lewis’s column, this begs the real question: It does little good to argue about what is normal, when half the nation is, in effect, denying that anything is normal. First of all, we need to reestablish the very concept of normality, the very notion of norms, the very idea of rules, the very perception of standards.
Until we do, all we can say is, “Whatever” or “Who am I to judge?” Who? I’ll tell you who. A unique child of God, endowed with the intelligence to understand, and the wisdom to know right from wrong. That’s who.

NCAA sources list Lia Thomas’s height as 6’1″. But 5’8″ Riley Gaines repeatedly refers to Thomas as 6’4″. Haven’t known Riley to lie, have you? Looking at this photo of them standing side-by-side barefoot, Thomas looks about half a head taller, or about 6’4″, and much broader as well. Bottom line: Once you lie about one thing, you’re probably lying about other things as well. The object was to make the competition seem less grossly unfair than it actually was. “Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus.”
