Bukele Meets Trump – Two Like-Minded Leaders

President Bukele turned El Salvador from the murder capital of the world into the safest country in Latin America. Now he met with President Trump in the Oval Office. Reporters asked Bukele if he would return an accused MS13 member to the U.S. as the court ordered, because there were questions about the legality of his deportation.

Sometimes progress requires reordering society in a great upheaval. But more often progress requires only a leader with the intelligence to know where he wants to go, and the strength to get there. I believe the meeting in the Oval Office reveals two such leaders. But as Butler, Pennsylvania showed too starkly, tomorrow isn’t promised. So let us get busy.
