UK High Court Defines Woman As Woman

The UK used to have courts of appeals. But then, in rare instances, you could appeal to the Law Lords, the judges in the House of Lords. But now the UK has a Supreme Court, mirroring the US Supreme Court for better or worse.

The UK Supreme Court has just decided, unanimously, that when it comes to sports or other activities covered by their Equality Act, “woman” means a biological woman, not a man who thinks he is a woman, believes he is a woman, or merely says he is a woman.

This reminds me of the quote from Chesterton:

“Fires will be kindled to testify that two and two make four. Swords will be drawn to prove that leaves are green in summer.”

In other words, the time will come when stating the obvious will take courage because it will evoke strong, even violent, opposition. Well, Mr. Chesterton, you were correct, and that time has come.

Now we impatiently await the time that the US Supreme Court follows the lead of their British cousins, and has the courage to state the obvious. Then, 5’8″ Riley Gaines will no longer be forced to swim against 6’4″ Lia Thomas, and school girls will no longer have to undress in locker rooms shared by intact, adult males.

Yes, two and two DO make four, and the leaves ARE green in summer. As Mike Tyson said when asked if he was really voting for Trump, “What ya gonna do about it?”
