New England Journal Of Medicine – Or Journal Of Politics?
The lead article in the New England Journal of Medicine for April 17, 2025 is titled, “Withdrawal of the United States from the WHO – How President Trump Is Weakening Public Health.” In case you missed the editorial slant, the article repeatedly refers to “Trump” and the “Trump administration,” but except for the title, never to President Trump, and surely not to President Donald Trump. In contrast, it refers to “President Joe Biden.”
In short, the authors of the article, and the editors, make it crystal clear where they stand politically. As authors and editors of a scientific journal, one would think that they would at least attempt a veneer of objectivity. One would be wrong.
In the current atmosphere of political extremism, the primary objective of the authors and editors is to repeatedly prove their “progressive” beliefs, their wholehearted acceptance of leftist mantras. In this, they have succeeded. As objective scientists worthy of our trust, not so much. Keep that in mind when you read their reports.
In attempting to prove how wrong President Trump was, they inadvertently prove him right. Misusing science for political purposes corrupts science until its true purpose, the discovery of truth, becomes impossible. Horse poop belongs in the barnyard, not in the pages of a scientific journal.
