Do They Want Another Kent State?
In 1970 the anti-Vietnam war movement reached a peak. At Kent State University, a group of students surrounded a squad of Ohio National Guard troops and threw stones at them. The poorly trained troops fired, killing 4 students and wounding 9 others. The images were heartbreaking. But in fact, active demonstrations became less common.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom do nothing except pour gasoline on the fire with inflammatory statements. This raises a crucial question: Do these inept politicians, and those who finance them want to calm things down? Or do they want another Kent State that they can blame on Trump and show around the world to evoke more enemies for America?
I can’t speak for anyone else. But I most emphatically do not want another Kent State, and I will never forgive those who yearn for it and do their best to bring it about.
