Two Photos Tell The Story
Sometimes you don’t need a dramatic image. Sometimes you don’t need a photo of the man waving a large Mexican flag, riding around on a motorcycle with huge clouds of black smoke in the background. Sometimes the whole situation is depicted in simple, undramatic images. Sometimes, rarely, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is not hogging a microphone. Sometimes Karl, the guy cleaning up other people’s mess, is seen as the hero he really is.
After all, what are police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and National Guard members? They are guys cleaning up other people’s mess. We owe them a huge vote of thanks for making our civilization possible. And we owe the people making the mess – well, you can fill that in yourself.
