Chicago Mayor Defies Feds
Report: Mayor of Chicago Brandon Johnson declares he will order Chicago police to arrest ICE agents who are rounding up illegal aliens.
Sounds amazingly like Governor Orval Faubus of Arkansas “standing in the school house door” to block racial integration. In fact, sounds like Jeff Davis, Confederate president. History shows that Democrats defying feds has a rather unpleasant odor.
President Eisenhower sent in the 101st Airborne to deal with Faubus. Lincoln sent in U.S. Grant and the Union Army to deal with Davis. You think Trump won’t do something similar? This is a publicity stunt that could prove dangerous. But dangerous to federal agents, Chicago police officers, and the general public. Not dangerous to Mayor Johnson, who will remain safe in his office, reading his press releases.
Reminds me of the old joke: I haven’t seem Democrats this angry since Republicans freed their slaves.
