“Removed From Reality”

Secretary of Education Linda McMahon announces that California will lose federal education funds if it persists in allowing biological males to compete in girls’ and women’s sports and intrude into women’s locker rooms.

California Governor Gavin Newsom retorts that McMahon is removed from reality. But who is really removed from reality? Look at this photo of all-American swimmer Riley Gaines, who is 5’9″ tall. Next to her is her 6’4″ competitor, whom she tied to one-hundredth of a second.

Interestingly, Riley used to be listed at 5’8″, while her competitor was listed at 6’1″. There appears to be a concerted effort to minimize the gross unfairness of the competition by making Gaines taller and her competitor shorter. But you can’t minimize it. It is blatantly obvious.

So who is really removed from reality? MaMahon, who sees the unfairness and seeks to stop it? Or Newsom, who claims not to see it and seeks to perpetuate it?

If you had to express in one phrase what is wrong with so-called progressives, it would be denial of reality. And when we are dealing with human beings, denial of reality can be hurtful at best, and dangerous at worst.
