Anti-Trumpers Go Bonkers

George Will, a so-called conservative but a confirmed anti-Trumper à la National Review: He is supporting Mamdani, an open communist and anti-Semite, for New York mayor. He wants people to see that communism doesn’t work.

This is similar to giving PCP to young people, so they can see the side effects. But one of the side effects is death. Standing over a dead body and yelling, “Let that be a lesson to you!” may make an amusing cartoon, but it does not make good public policy.

Communism has killed about 100 million people worldwide. If some people still believe it is worth trying, they are dangerous lunatics who belong in a mental hospital, not promising politicians who belong in the mayor’s mansion. If George Will does not know that, he is an ignoramus, despite his Oxford and Princeton degrees. Hatred of Trump is an emotion, not a qualification for being a political guru.
