D.C. Police Chief Does Not Understand “Chain Of Command”

When asked about the federal takeover of Washington, D.C. police, chief Pamela Smith stated she did not understand what “chain of command” meant. She was rescued by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, who explained that Attorney General Bondi would contact the mayor, who would then contact the police chief.

Smith has been a member of the D.C. Metropolitan Police since 2022, when she was appointed Chief Equity Officer. Her degree is in education. This only partially explains her ignorance of a commonly used term. So our nation’s capital has a police chief who is ignorant of basic organizational structure. And our nation’s second most populous city had a fire chief who was ignorant of whether the hydrants had water. Oh yes, DEI is the way to go. Diversity is our strength. Some people know their jobs, some people don’t. There, is that diverse enough for you?
