The monarch of the United Kingdom is not King Chuck. The head guy in France is not President Manny. The leader of Germany is not Chancellor Fred. So why is the head of government in Israel Prime Minister “Bibi”?

His friends may call him “Bibi,” short for Binyamin or Benjamin, a proud biblical name, and the name of one of our most revered founders. But his enemies? Those who call him “Satan”? Those who claim he is acting for all Joooz as he pulls Trump’s puppet strings? How do they presume to call him “Bibi”?

The head of government of a nation deserves the respect of being called by his name, not his nickname. That is for friends, which many of those who call him “Bibi” surely are not.
