“The White Bales On Those Boats Aren’t Christmas Gifts From Santa”

Secretary of Defense Hegseth tries to explain to “progressive” journalists that fast boats aren’t for fishing. He tries to explain that he has been tasked with interrupting the flow – no, the deluge – of deadly drugs, mainly fentanyl, that kill about 100,000 Americans annually. He tries to explain that President Trump and he are actually doing what previous presidents merely talked about doing: conducting a war on drugs.
But his job is a difficult one. He is trying to explain what his listeners refuse to understand. Or at least, they pretend not to understand. The lawyers page through multiple statutes and court decisions. The politicians check which way the wind is blowing. The media gurus consult their crystal balls. But unless you are a cop and have kicked in the door of a stash house, or a paramedic and attempted to revive an overdosed kid with naloxone, you really don’t know what you are talking about.
Spare me from those “wise men” who lack wisdom, or even common sense. Spare me from those “experts” on warfare who think speaking at a staff meeting is stressful, and whose idea of a wound is a paper cut. Spare me from the commentators whose comments always seem to make our guys more in danger, and the other guys safer.
