More On Pope “Correcting” Netanyahu

Anti-Semites seem obsessed with the notion that the late Pope Francis “corrected” Prime Minister Netanyahu. When the prime minister stated that Jesus spoke Hebrew, the pope interjected, “Aramaic.”

We believe that for everyday use, Jesus spoke Aramaic, a close relative of Hebrew and the common language of the Middle East at that time. But to pray, Jesus spoke Hebrew, as do Jews from biblical times until today.

But if Jesus did not speak Hebrew, in what language did Jesus pray?

Did Jesus speak Latin and pray to Jupiter? Did Jesus speak Greek and pray to Zeus? Did Jesus speak Sumerian and pray to Anki-Enki? Or did Jesus speak Egyptian and pray to Amun-Ra?

No, Jesus spoke Hebrew and prayed to the One God, Who gave us the Ten Commandments. God was hated ever since for doing so, as was His people for carrying the message.

You can have any pagan god you want, whether he was named Hitler, Stalin, or Mao. We will stick with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. As the old hymn goes, it’s good enough for me.
