“The World Will Never Love Us”
I was trying to find what to say about the U.S. military incursion into Venezuela and the arrest of President Maduro. But then I recalled the words attributed to President Theodore Roosevelt. They fit the situation quite nicely:
“The world will never love us. It will respect us. It may even come to fear us. But it will never love us. For we have too much audacity. And we’re a bit blind and reckless at times, too.” – Teddy Roosevelt in “The Wind and the Lion”
