Did Trump Set A Trap For Democrats?

Define trap. If you mean some clever, devious device to catch the unwary, then no. All Trump did was to introduce Medal of Honor recipients and the mother of murdered Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska. Anyone with normal human emotions would be expected to react by standing and applauding.

But if you mean did the Democrats fail to respond to these normal human stimuli, except by ignoring them, then yes. Trump did lay a trap. And the Congressional Democrats stepped right in. They failed to react as Americans. They even failed to react as human beings.

They reacted as bitter, resentful, partisan politicians who hate Trump more than they love, or even respect, what normal individuals love and respect. As my wife will tell you, I have many faults. But a poor memory is not among them.
