Energy Poverty

In Germany they call it Energiearmut, energy poverty. Here we simply say, “Turn out the lights, we’re not made of money.”
Just like Germany, we will have energy poverty. Save the planet, but forget about poor people who won’t be able to afford to keep the lights on, use their computer, cook the food, or heat the house.
This is typical of progressives and environmentalists, who are often the same people. They love humanity in general, as an abstract concept, but they have little regard for actual human beings.
Their policies will cause people, especially working class people, to live in cold darkness? No worries. Their desire to save the planet excuses them from all the misery they will cause. And since the misery is evenly distributed, it also satisfies their progressive notions.
Evenly distributed misery – now there is a goal worth striving for.
