First The Cap, Now The Shoes
First President Trump was excoriated for wearing a cap at the ceremony honoring fallen troops as their bodies were returned home at Dover AFB. But it was not a red MAGA cap. It was a white USA cap.
Trump had a choice of removing the cap and holding it over his heart as a civilian, or keeping it on and saluting as commander-in-chief, which he is.
It is unclear what upset the critics more, that Trump wore the cap, or that it said USA.
Having complained about the cap, critics now go on to the shoes. It is claimed that Trump bought shoes for his cabinet members. Not $622 Louis Vuitton shoes, but $135 Florsheim shoes. And reportedly Trump got the size wrong.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is shown wearing shoes that are too large. Does he feel forced to wear them for fear of insulting the President? Or does he prefer to wear large shoes he can just step into and keep them laced?
I do that, and I do not live in fear of Trump. On the contrary, I live in fear of those who hate Trump more than they love America. Caps? Shoes? Who the bleep cares, or even notices? These people give picayune a bad name.
