Reparations
It’s not only the one-third million White men and boys who died in the Union Army in the Civil War.
Don’t forget the tens of thousands of amputated arms and legs. They were stacked outside hospital tents like cord wood. Veterans with pinned-up sleeves or peg legs were a common site on the streets for decades after the Civil War.
Do those men deserve no recognition? Did all that blood that soaked into the dirt, and all those amputated limbs, not constitute reparations? No? Then nothing ever could.
