You want to salute the LGBTQ+ Pride flag? Join the US military. But don’t read the regs. Only national flags of the US and friendly nations are to be saluted. Organizational flags, even of our own military organizations, are not saluted. But no worries, whatever.

That bland world so aptly describes our modern attitude: whatever. Nothing really matters, not national loyalty, not personal loyalty. Salute the Pride flag, disrespect the US flag. Laugh at patriotism, dump you spouse. Say there are as many genders as it takes to please the boss. Red, white, and blue too vivid? Try beige, it probably won’t offend anyone. Whatever.
