Trump Voters “Enemies Of The State”

This is not the sports reporter for the Bunghole Weekly Gazette. This is the Justice Dept. reporter for the New York Times, the “newspaper of record.” (What record? The criminal record? The vinyl record?) She declares that half the people in America are security risks and enemies of the state. So “the state” must consist only of the progressive half of the people – an odd, restrictive concept of “the state.”

Even worse, she does this not over drinks with friends, but on social media where the world can see it. She is not afraid that her remarks will evoke criticism, even anger. She works with and socializes with people in the same progressive bubble. She reads the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and most papers in between. She watches ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and CNN, and listens to NPR. She rarely hears a contrary opinion, and then only to ridicule it.

With effort and luck, we conservatives may be able to reconcile with people who think of us as ignorant Neanderthals. They can try to “educate” us. But how can we reconcile with people who consider us “national security risks” and “enemies of the state”? They can try to lock us up or send us to re-education camps. But I wouldn’t suggest trying it.

If enough progressives hold the hateful beliefs of this reporter, I fear that reconciliation will be impossible, so we must recognize that we have irreconcilable differences and divorce is imminent. It will be a contested divorce. I pray that this is not the case.
