Pet peeve: TV shows with frightening medical scenes. Chemo shown as horrible, not worth it. “House” showed marrow donor suffering without anesthesia. Same for “Chicago Fire” where Severide suffered extreme pain donating. How many potential donors were frightened away? How many don’t go to their doctors at all? How much damage is done by creating phony drama?
