The German state of Hesse, which includes Frankfurt, has banned the unvaccinated from all stores including food stores. However, apparently those who recovered from Covid will be admitted, putting Hesse ahead of the US in respect for science. Other German states are expected to follow Hesse’s example.

First they came for travel rights. But I didn’t want to travel, so I didn’t speak out. Then they came for our right to assemble in groups, but I was a bit avoidant, so I didn’t speak out. Then they came for restaurants and bars, but I don’t drink and enjoy eating at home, so I didn’t speak out. Then they came for sporting events, but I watch on TV, so I didn’t speak out. Then they came for churchgoers, but I pray at home, so I didn’t speak out. Then they came for clothing and other stores, but I shop online, so I didn’t speak out.

But now they are coming for food stores, and I am too weak and hungry to speak out. And with such draconian regulations, no one dares to speak out for me. Pastor Niemöller was right. I should have spoken out before it was too late. The time to pull the fire alarm is when we first smell smoke, not when the whole house is in flames.
