Have you noticed that when the British do “present arms” for the Queen or other high officials, they dip their flag to the ground. Our flag is the symbol of our country; we never dip it, much less touch it to the ground. But the monarch is the Brit’s symbol. Their flag is respected, but their monarch is honored. Interesting difference.
