Craig Johnson calls it Zen. I call it time to think up more Longmire stories. Working on the land with his hands helps him remain grounded, so he can write about realistic people facing realistic problems.
Intellectuals who do no physical work, or have no physical hobbies, tend to go off into orbit. If they are writers, they produce artistic crap. If they are in power, they can cause real trouble. Just look around us. My only question: If there is three feet of snow in Craig Johnson’s driveway, is this an example of writer’s block?
