LATimes column bemoans theft of statues of “Mexican heritage” including Pancho Villa. This revolutionary led a raid into the US killing about 18 Americans. He was pursued by the US Army without success, but was eventually killed by rivals. The paper smiled at removal of statues of Lincoln and other great Americans, but balks at removal of a statue of Villa.
