Courage To State The Obvious

Fires will be kindled to testify that two and two make four. Swords will be drawn to prove that leaves are green in summer. ― G. K. Chesterton

Years ago I read this quote but it did not seem realistic. Now it is all too relevant. Think about it:

• Men menstruate and give birth.
• AMA says birth certificates should not list sex, which the person will decide on years later.
• If thin girl says she is fat, we treat her for anorexia, but if she says she is a boy, we must affirm her belief.
• Biden says our government did not cause inflation but Putin did, and most Democrats and their media agree.
• Democrats believe most of our problems are caused by White supremacists, though very few have ever seen one.
• Religion has killed more people that anything else, despite the tens of millions killed by Mao, Stalin, Hitler, and the others.
• True communism hasn’t been tried yet, despite Plymouth Colony, Russia, China, Cambodia, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, etc., etc.
• Freedom of speech is protected by censorship of ideas the elite dislike.
• Democracy is protected by investigating and prosecuting political opponents.
• Justice is served by imprisoning Jan. 6 rioters in solitary confinement for over a year without trials.

Only 10 years ago, someone expressing these views would be seen as peculiar, even disturbed. Now we are required to express them or risk being banned from media or even losing our jobs. Of course, the elite don’t care what we really believe. We are required merely to parrot those ideas as a sign of our obedience.

Yes, it often does take courage to dispute dogma and state the obvious. Chesterton was all too right.
