But hey, Mike, I respect your commitment to the Constitution. You believed it did not allow you to challenge the presidential electors, so you did not do so, despite pressure from Trump and many of his supporters. If you told me something, I would take it to the bank. However…

You do not decide who runs for president. Attorney General Garland and Special Counsel Smith do not decide who runs for president. The Deep State, whoever they may be, do not decide. CNN, MSNBC, NPR, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the rest of the Pravda-like state media do not decide.

We decide who runs for president. That’s right. We the voters decide. This is not Iran, where the Supreme Leadership Council tells voters who can run. This is still America. Barely, but it still is.

If we decide that Donald J. Trump, the son of a real-estate developer and a Scots woman from the Isle of Lewis, with all his warts, his big mouth, and his mean tweets, is the candidate we prefer, then that’s the way it will be. Period. Full stop.

So get over it. Get over your wounded pride and narcissistic injury.We don’t have a king, who was born to rule. We don’t have a puppet, who was selected to rule. We have a president, whom we select, according to our best judgment, flawed though it may be. And even if – which God forbid – America is destined to sink beneath the waves forever, it will be with our guy at the helm.
