In the film “Moneyball,” people are discussing prospects for their ball team. One is called a good hitter. The Brad Pitt character asks, “If he’s a good hitter, why doesn’t he hit good?” If law and order are winning talking points, why don’t these candidates win? In New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles they lost. Re-fund the police lost. Make our streets safe again lost. Leftist ideology won. Crime and anarchy reign. People get the government they deserve. Now there is a depressing thought.
