Breaking news: UK to stop prescribing puberty blockers for minors, that is, for anyone. What was yesterday a “generally accepted” therapy with “well known” side effects is today an “experimental” therapy with “poorly studied” late effects, because insufficient time has elapsed to study those late effects.
Generally the more time passes, the more we learn about something. But in the case of “gender-affirming” therapy, the more time passes, the less we know with certainty. This suggests that “gender-affirming” therapy was not a scientific advance but a fad that is now becoming passé.
Yes, doctors are subject to fads as much as are women’s fashion designers. Just check out how they followed masking, lockdowns, school closures, and vaccinations with sheep-like passivity. “Do as you’re told” and “Do what everyone else is doing” are the very antithesis of science, the very opposite of “First do no harm.” We used to know that. Time for a refresher course. We could title it “Freedom 102.”
