• 1933: Nazi demonstrators force closure of library of University of Vienna. My mother must stop work on her PhD, which she never resumed. The Nazi demonstrators were unpunished, as police were forbidden to enter the campus.
• 2025: Masked anti-Israel, anti-Semitic demonstrators take over library of Columbia University during finals. No one removes them, expels them, or arrests them. Library remains closed.
