Does Daylight Saving Time Actually Save Electricity?

Does Daylight Saving Time actually save electric power? After all these years, this is still disputed. But one thing is beyond dispute: It increases government power.

THEY, not the sun, decide what time it is. THEY, not the farmers, decide when cows must be milked. THEY, not the parents, decide when kids must go to school in the dark. THEY, not the owners, decide when we must go around the house, resetting all the clocks. And the digital clocks may require us to read the instruction manual, if we can find it.

Now THAT is power. But is it the kind we really want to save?
